*bump* here's another part to the story, though it's not the end. please do not judge this as if it's the end of the story, cause it's not.
Beep! Beep! Beep! That was the sound I heard first when I woke up Saturday morning. I checked the clock. It read 9:20 am. I got up, being careful not to wake Jennifer up. I got my lucky pick and headed towards the backstage of the auditorium where my band mates were.
“Is everyone here?” I asked.
“I’m here,” Rick answered.
“Present,” Dan said.
“Ready,” Triple B responded.
“Alright, lets get everything set up,” I said. We all got to work setting up the amps, instruments, and everything else. Once we had everything set up, we organized a setlist of songs to play. By the time we finished that half the auditoriium was filled with people.
“Alright guys, we’re close to performing time. How’s everyone feeling?” Dan asked.
“I feel excited!” Triple B said with excitement
“I’ve been waiting for this for a long time,” I said with pleasure.
“Feeling pretty confident,” Rick said with simplicity. A guest speaker was to announce our entrance.
“Ladies and gentlemen. Today is the day chosen for a new band to rise. A band with fierce skill and passionate personalities. A band that never backs down from a challenge. A band you all came to see. Ladies and gentlemen, the Merciless Monarches.” The small crowd cheered and clapped. We came out one by one, starting with me, then Dan, followed by Zack, and finally Rick.
“Hello everyone,” Rick says then plays a quick riff. “We’re the Merciless Monarches. The first song is called Kill My Love.” Dan started with rhythm, then I started to play. Zack then entered on drums. Finally, Rick started to sing:
You came and stole my heart away
You took it on a silver tray
I’d never seen such beauty
Turned out to be only cruelty.
Rick’s skill was even better on stage. We played three songs. When we were finished, the crowd applauded. We exited the stage and started to pack up the equipment.
“Good job everyone. We played great out there,” I said with satisfaction. Once we finished packing up the equipment, we headed out. As we approached the door someone called out my name. I turned around saw GHM heading our way.
“I just wanted to say you guys did an amazing job. In fact, you did such an amazing job that I’m going to hook you up with a record company,” GHM said.
“You got to be shitting me. Are you serious?” Zack asked.
“Dead serious.”
“Okay GHM, what’s the catch?” I asked.
“I want 10% of all profits from merchandise and concerts.”
“What do you guys think?” I asked.
“Fair enough for me,” Dan responded.
“I’m cool with it,” Zack answered.
“Hey, I’m in this mainly for fun so I don’t mind at all,” Rick said.
“GHM, you have a deal,” I said.
GHM thanked us and headed to his dorm. I was thinking that we’d just scored big time. Just goes to show you how good my thinking is.
